"To be a star you must shine your own light, follow your own path and don't worry about the darkness for that is when the stars shine the brightest."
Over the years, I have gotten way better with the holidays. I tell my family and friends (that understand the true meaning of a holiday); I just want to be with them to spend quality time, a meal, a laugh, a spa day, a walk or something we both enjoy. Isn't it stressful trying to find that perfect gift last minute in those overly crowded stress ridden malls? It is for me and I usually can't find anything that is meaningful. We all could use a little more one on one time instead of a quick gift exchange and a 100 holiday parties that are filled with crappy food. So, I share this to inspire you to maybe try something different in the years to come. During the year I love to find great gifts that appear when I'm not looking and send them off to my friends and family when I find them. So, what I truly desire is a connected face to face conversation that I will treasure forever. Honestly, for the most part, they all LOVE it and listen! Yes, some still seem perplexed about my beliefs around the holidays because they insist on giving me presents because they love it. Don't get me wrong, I do love receiving gifts and those with thought from family and friends, but I don't EXPECT the presents and honestly, I don't need another candle or trinket.
I wanted to share this above photo from a post I saw on the internet and I just love it!!
This little "Holiday To Do" list makes me so very happy!!! So, this year let's all learn to:
1. Be Present
2. Give someone a Hug
3. Send Peace
4. Make Love
5. Donate Food
6. Be the Light!!
True Holiday bliss: Take it easy. Relax. Eat, Drink and be Merry. Do not Diet. Hug your loved ones and Smile because YOU are amazing. :)
